What materials do you use?
Our jewelry is made with high-quality materials such as gold-filled, sterling silver, and surgical-grade stainless steel, often paired with natural pearls and gemstones. All pieces are designed to be durable, hypoallergenic, and perfect for everyday wear.
Help your jewelry last longer — and love it more. Here’s what makes each of our materials special so you can find your perfect match.
🔸 PVD-Coated Stainless Steel
All our stainless steel jewelry is PVD coated.
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is a thin film coating process used on stainless steel jewelry. It creates a hard, scratch-resistant surface, protecting the underlying stainless steel from wear and tear — and it’s eco-friendly!
With proper care, it can last several years, even with regular wear.
Highly waterproof and sweatproof.
Gold PVD is darker in color than gold-filled (identical to solid gold).
🔹 304 Stainless Steel
The most common grade used in stainless steel jewelry making. Strong, affordable, and water-friendly.
Tarnish, rust, and corrosion resistant.
Hypoallergenic for most skin types — great for daily wear.
Great option for all jewelry.
⚕️ Surgical Stainless Steel (316L)
With its super low nickel content (often considered nickel-free), it’s ideal for ultra-sensitive skin.
Used in medical-grade implants.
Extra hypoallergenic and corrosion-resistant.
Perfect for sweat and salty water.
Great for piercings or those with earring allergies.
🟡 Gold-Filled
A durable alternative to solid gold, created by bonding a layer of gold alloy to a base metal (usually brass).
Must contain at least 5% gold by weight (typically 12k–18k; ours is mostly 14k).
Hypoallergenic and waterproof.
Virtually identical in color to solid gold.
Great option for all jewelry.
⚪🟡 Silver & Gold Vermeil
Crafted for timeless elegance with a solid 925 sterling silver base coated in a thick layer of 18k gold.
Offers the beauty of solid gold at a fraction of the cost.
Durable and tarnish-resistant with proper care.
Great for necklaces and earrings.
⚪🟡 Silver-Plated & Gold-Plated
Your go-to for stylish moments.
Thin layer of silver or gold over a base metal.
Best for occasional wear — avoid water, sweat, and lotions.
Great for necklaces and earrings.

Are your pieces handmade? 🖐️
Yes! Every piece is handcrafted by me, Vanessa Roeder, in small batches. This ensures each design gets the attention and detail it deserves.
Will my jewelry tarnish? 💍
With proper care, our jewelry will maintain its beauty for years. Gold-filled and stainless-steel pieces are highly resistant to tarnish, while sterling silver may naturally develop a patina over time—this can easily be polished back to its original shine.
